Basketball session

This basketball series was photographed at Battery Park in Cape Town, South Africa, using strong afternoon light to highlight energy, athleticism and friendship. As a Cape Town–based sports, people & lifestyle photographer I tried not to stage anything – instead I moved with the two players across the court almost the entire time to stay super close and keep the action as authentic as possible. The images mix fast, dynamic drives to the basket with quiet moments of rest and celebration, combining wide urban scenes with tight emotional portraits. The result is real, cinematic basketball photography for sports brands, urban lifestyle campaigns and social media content produced in South Africa.
